We are currently seeking an Insurance Billing Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for the timely submission of professional medical claims to insurance companies, posting of payments made by payers and patients, and timely follow up on unpaid and/or unaddressed claims. The Insurance Billing Specialist will report directly to the Billing Manager.
- At least 3 years’ experience in claims processing, insurance verification & posting payments
- Ability to handle all phone calls in a professional, service-oriented manner
- Thorough understanding of insurance benefits
- Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal and written
- Ability to manage change in an optimistic manner
- Ability to ask questions when help is needed and offer suggestions to complete work effectively and efficiently
- Ability for critical thinking when issues or concerns are raised
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and re-prioritize tasks
- Proficient in computer skills, i.e, EMR, Billing Clearinghouse Systems, Microsoft
- Word, Excel
